NHL Rumors: Blue Jackets To Move Center
According to Frank Seravalli, the Columbus Blue Jackets are currently shopping Jack Roslovic.
When the Blue Jackets acquired Roslovic from the Winnipeg Jets, he was an immediate fit. In fact, he went on to play the best hockey of his career following the move. In 48 games, he scored 12 goals and recorded 34 points. It was so nice to see from the hometown kid, but now, he finds himself as a trade target.
So why on Earth would the Blue Jackets consider moving Roslovic? Since his great start with the team, he's cooled off rather noticeably. In 30 games this season, he has five goals, 14 points, and a minus-3 rating. With that, as Seravalli notes in his piece, Roslovic's playing time has dropped off significantly. In fact, he's playing almost five minutes less per game than last season.
When looking at how excellently Roslovic played last season, there should be interest around the league. With that, he is capable of playing both center and right wing, so teams would have multiple options with him. Let's see if he remains with Columbus for the remainder of the season or ends up having a new home.
