NHL Rumors: Boston Bruins Pursuing Stars' Defenseman
It's not a secret that Dallas Stars defenseman John Klingberg and his expiring contact are being made available for trade. Multiple sources have confirmed a number of teams have already held discussions with Dallas management to find out the asking price for the 29-year-old, with the Boston Bruins being among them.

Klingberg is available after allegedly requesting a trade after the two sides have not been able to come to an agreement on a contract extension heading into the 6'3" defenseman's upcoming free agency:

Boston Hockey Now's Jimmy Murphy reported that the Bruins were in on the Klingberg sweepstakes even before knowledge of his trade request became public:
According to an NHL source with direct knowledge of the situation, the Boston Bruins are one of the numerous teams who had already inquired with Stars general manager Jim Nill when the Klingberg trade request went public earlier this month. Klingberg is in the final season of a seven-year contract that carries a $4.2 million cap hit.
Murphy also goes on to name the Arizona Coyotes' Jakob Chychrun as a potential target of the Bruins as well, but his asking price is likely too high for the Bruins to stomach.
