NHL Rumors: Flyers To Shop 2 Players

According to Rory Boylen of Sportsnet, the Philadelphia Flyers may end up trading both Claude Giroux and Rasmus Ristolainen by the deadline.

The Flyers currently have a 13-18-8 record and are on a nine-game losing streak. Needless to say, it's been a very disappointing campaign for them again, and they may benefit from being sellers at this juncture.

It would be quite strange to see Giroux sporting another jersey, though. The star forward has played his whole career with the franchise and has been captain for multiple seasons. Yet, he is also on an expiring contract and could net them a very good return. There would be a plethora of teams interested in him, too.

Ristolainen was brought in during the summer in hopes that he would help the Flyers turn around. In the move, they gave up a first-round pick, second-pick, and Robert Hagg. However, things have not been working out for him with the Flyers, as he has just one goal and eight points on the year. That kind of production is very low for his standards. Yet, when seeing as how he has had a lot of success offensively in the past and plays a very physical game, there should be interest for him, too.

Alas, we will have to see if the Flyers end up committing to being sellers.
