NHL Rumors: Seattle Kraken Name Asking Price for Mark Giordano
The Seattle Kraken are out of the playoff race in their inaugural season as unfortunately things haven't gone quite as planned for the franchise. The trade offers will be coming in fast and furious for general manager Ron Francis and one name drawing a ton of interest is Kraken captain Mark Giordano.
According to reports the Kraken have made it clear they would like a first-round pick for the veteran defenseman which seems a bit of a high ask considering he's played in 35 games this season, collecting only 15 points. 'Gio' has the type of game to play in all situations, however we'll be curious to see if someone bites on the asking price or if they manage to negotiate another return.

Giordano has a no-trade clause where he submits a list of 19 teams he's willing to be traded to. There's been interest from a number of teams including the New York Rangers, his old team the Calgary Flames and the Nashville Predators. The Anaheim Ducks are another team to watch as the western conference is very familiar with the defenseman's game.
The Kraken have several other players drawing trade interest including Calle Jarnkrok, Chris Driedger, Marcus Johansson, Riley Sheahan, and Colin Blackwell. After a disappointing first season, look for the Kraken to try and make some moves to not only create further cap space for next offseason, but also bank some more draft picks in the cupboards as they continue to build their organizational depth.
