NHL Rumors: Stars Actively Trying To Trade Defenseman
According to Jeff Marek, the Dallas Stars are increasing their efforts to move defenseman John Klingberg.
As we just reported on Hockey Night in Canada the Dallas Stars have stepped up their efforts to trade John Klingberg. We believe he will be moved. Not sure where but we've reported that the Carolina Hurricanes have shown interest previously.

Klingberg recently opened up about being frustrated by the fact that he and the team haven't had extension talks. With that, head coach Rick Bowness dropped Klingberg to the third pair during their last game against the Tampa Bay Lightning. For a defenseman of his ability, this was very strange to see. Naturally, his playing time has also begun to drop off significantly, too.
A trade certainly seems like the best option for both parties moving forward. Klingberg has expressed clear dissatisfaction with the organization, while the Stars are now beginning to underutilize him. The latter also is not doing any favors for the 29-year-old defenseman when it comes to his next contract.
In 30 games this season, Klingberg has a goal, 16 assists, and a minus-11 rating. In terms of his offensive production, it's been another solid campaign for him. With Dallas actively trying to move him, there will be a plethora of interest around the league. Some teams who could be potential fits are the Carolina Hurricanes, New York Rangers, and Boston Bruins. Yet, that should really be the tip of the iceberg.
