Ottawa Senators Lose Another 3 Players
The Ottawa Senators are the latest team to be hit with a COVID-19 outbreak as the team announced they have moved defenseman Thomas Chabot and forwards Zach Sanford and Chris Tierney.
Roster update: The #Sens have placed defenceman Thomas Chabot and forwards Zach Sanford and Chris Tierney in the NHL's covid-19 protocol.

Subsequently, the #Sens have recalled defenceman Michael Del Zotto (to roster) and forward Scott Sabourin (to taxi) from @BellevilleSens.
The team also recalled veteran defenseman Michael Del Zotto to fill Chabot's shoes. MDZ is on the trade block and this will be a good showcase for him to show he can still get it done at an NHL level. The Senators also recalled forward Scott Sabourin from Belleville of the American Hockey League as the rugged forward always brings a physical edge to his game.
Ottawa now has nine players on their COVID-19 protocol list which includes Chabot, Tierney, Sanford along with Anton Forsberg, Josh Norris, Tyler Ennis, Dillon Heatherington, Nick Paul and Jacob Bernard-Docker. The team already had three games postponed back in November because of a horrible outbreak and hopefully with the new taxi squads they can avoid such a thing in 2022.
The Senators next game is scheduled for Thursday against the Seattle Kraken.
