Penguins Lose Two Forwards
The Pittsburgh Penguins have been dealt some bad news - Bryan Rust and Brock McGinn have entered COVID-19 protocol.
This is a particularly tough break for Rust. The 29-year-old winger was out of action for over one month and just returned to the team in January 2nd's contest against the San Jose Sharks. He's been nothing short of spectacular since, as he has scored seven goals and added four helpers in just three games. This is such a disappointing way for his hot stretch of play to end. On the season, he has nine goals and 20 points in 15 contests.
McGinn has been a solid addition for the Penguins this season. Although he hasn't been as dominant as Rust, he still has been quite noticeable. In 33 games, he has nine goals and 13 total points. With that, he's been solid defensively and works well on their penalty kill.
The Penguins are set to play Saturday afternoon against the Dallas Stars. Being without these two wingers for it certainly isn't ideal.
