Rangers To Be Without Forward
Barclay Goodrow of the New York Rangers has entered COVID-19 protocol.
Fresh off of signing a six-year deal with the Rangers over the summer, Goodrow has been a sweet fit with the franchise. In 36 games thus far, he already has seven goals and 17 points. This is marvelous production from the 27-year-old, as he just had a 20-point campaign with the Tampa Bay Lightning in 55 games last season.
Goodrow has found success bouncing around the lineup because of his versatility. Some worried that his $3.6 million cap hit would be far too much, but he's been exceeding expectations with the Blueshirts so far. Besides his increase of offense, he is very active physically - as evidenced by his 70 hits already this campaign.
The Rangers will surely miss Goodrow while he's out, but thankfully, they are in a very good spot in the standings. At this time, they have a 23-10-4 record and are second in the Metropolitan Division.
