Sabres Lose Another Goalie
Buffalo Sabres goaltender Michael Houser has entered COVID-19 protocol. This is brutal news, as Ukko-Pekka Luukkonen and Malcolm Subban are out with injuries, while Aaron Dell is serving his three-game suspension. With that, Craig Anderson and Dustin Tokarski both are practicing with the team currently, but it still hasn't been determined if they can each return for Saturday's game against the Arizona Coyotes.
Thus, at this juncture, the Sabres have at least four goaltenders currently sidelined. If the team decides that Anderson and Tokarski both do not seem ready to go, that number will officially be six. If that occurs, they will have to be creative to get a goalie.
Buffalo's goalies have been injured a lot this season. In fact, it's the primary reason why Houser landed himself an NHL deal. In his two appearances with the team, however, he has a 2-0-0 record, 2.00 goals-against average, and .948 save percentage. Although the sample size has obviously been small, he does deserve praise.
It will be interesting to see what ends up happening with Buffalo's goaltending situation, but with Houser now out, it's becoming even more hectic.
