St Louis Blues Lose Three Players
The St Louis Blues are the latest team to be hit with a COVID outbreak as the team announced on Thursday they have sent three players to the protocol list. They include forward Vladimir Tarasenko and defensemen Scott Perunovich and Jake Walman.
Certainly a massive blow for the Blues as Tarasenko is their leading scorer. After a trade request went unanswered in the offseason, the Russian sniper has been lights out in St Louis, tallying 14 goals and 20 assists for 34 points in 34 games.
Perunovich is an offensive defenseman who was lighting up the American Hockey League before being called up a few weeks ago. He's picked up six assists over the 18 games he's appeared in. Walman on the other hand has only one goal in two assists in 18 games.
The Blues crumbled to the Pittsburgh Penguins on Wednesday night, even with Brayden Schenn scoring in his return and finding themselves with a 2-0 lead. Sidney Crosby then woke up to start the third period and took over the game.
The Blues now sit 19-10-5 on the season and get ready to host the Washington Capitals on Friday night. Let's hope the rest of their team can stay away from catching COVID as it's already been creeping it's ugly head all over their roster.
