Two Golden Knights Players Placed In Protocol
Mark Stone and Nicolas Hague of the Vegas Golden Knights have both entered the NHL's COVID-19 protocol.
This obviously isn't good news for Vegas. Out of the pair, Stone is obviously the bigger name, as he is their top forward and captain. Although Hague has been out with an ankle injury since late December, being added to the protocol list doesn't help with his recovery at all.
Stone has dealt with injury trouble this season, but when he has played, he's been excellent. In 23 games, he has seven goals, 26 points, and a plus-10 rating. He also has been on a tear recently, as he has recorded five points over his last five games. However, his hot streak will now have to be paused temporarily due to this development.
Hague is once again having a strong year. The 23-year-old defenseman is quietly performing well offensively, as he has three goals and 10 assists in 32 games. It seems that the 2017 second-round pick is only continuing to get better. Once he leaves protocol and is healed from his injury, the team will be ecstatic to have him back.
The Golden Knights are set to play the Montreal Canadiens on Thursday night and then the Washington Capitals on the 24th. Here's to hoping at least Stone will be able to go for their game against Washington. They aren't an easy foe, to say the least.
