Video: Kings' Quinton Byfield Scores First NHL Goal
In Thursday's game against the New York Islanders, Los Angeles Kings forward Quinton Byfield scored his first NHL goal by beating Semyon Varlamov with a hard wrist shot.
Byfield has an immense amount of hype, as he was drafted with the second overall selection of the 2020 NHL Entry Draft. The 19-year-old has the skill and size to be an elite forward in this league. However, it's been a hard year for him, as he broke his ankle during training camp. Yet, he now is back with the NHL team and has to be making a good impression after a goal like that.
After recovering from his injury, Byfield began the season with the Ontario Reign of the AHL. In 11 games, he scored four goals and added two helpers. The Kings felt his play was strong enough to warrant a call-up from there. In four games with the NHL squad, he now has broken the ice and has his first goal.
Nevertheless, this should be the first of many from Byfield!
