Video: Maple Leafs Score Two Shorthanded Goals In 27 Seconds
The Toronto Maple Leafs had themselves an excellent penalty kill in Saturday night's game against the Ottawa Senators. During it, they scored two shorthanded goals in just 27 seconds.
You know a team is feeling it when they create offense multiple times with a man down. Justin Holl finally scored his first goal of the season after receiving a nice feed from David Kampf. From here, Ilya Mikheyev would keep the party rolling with a sweet goal on the breakaway.
It was a marvelous performance for the Leafs in general, too. They defeated the Senators by a 6-0 final score. With this, they now have a 21-8-2 record, while Ottawa has fallen to 9-18-2.
One other important thing to note is that Matt Murray was in net for the Senators. This kind of performance certainly isn't going to help his chances to stick with the NHL club once Filip Gustavsson and Anton Forsberg clear protocol.
