Video: Sharks' Meier Scores Five Goals
In Monday's game against the Los Angeles Kings, San Jose Sharks forward Timo Meier was on fire and scored five goals.
What makes Meier's five-goal performance even more impressive is the fact that he scored all of them in his first 11:38 of ice time. Furthermore, he became the first player to ever score five goals in a game in Sharks history. Needless to say, it was a ridiculous game for the 25-year-old winger.
After back-to-back disappointing seasons, Meier has been making up for them significantly this year. In 35 games, he now has 20 goals, 25 assists, and a plus-14 rating. With this kind of production, it also makes sense that he is set to play in the All-Star Game. After this kind of performance, he only has solidified his case to be one even more.
The Sharks would go on to defeat the Kings by a 6-2 final score. With this, they now have a 21-17-2 record, while the Kings have fallen to 20-14-5.
