Video: Wild's Pitlick Scores From Behind Net
Minnesota Wild forward Rem Pitlick scored himself a wacky goal during the Winter Classic. While behind the net, he tried to make a pass in front. Instead, the puck deflected off of Jordan Binnington's stick and mask before beating him.
These kind of goals are always entertaining to see. Although it was just bad luck for Binnington, it's clear that Pitlick was happy about it. With it, he now has six goals and 11 points in 18 games this season with the Wild. The 24-year-old has been an excellent waiver pickup for the Wild, and one has to wonder if the Nashville Predators regret letting him go.
It wasn't the best of nights for the Wild as a collective unit, however, as they would lose to the Blues by a 6-4 final score. Even with this being the case, it was still a very fun night of hockey for Wild fans. The scenery was beautiful, but boy, was it cold.
With their loss, the Wild now have a 19-10-2 record. As for St. Louis, they are 19-9-5 and remain first place in the Central Division.
