Blue Jackets Forward To Miss Time
Columbus Blue Jackets forward Eric Robinson will be out for the next six weeks due to an MCL sprain.
Robinson has been having a very solid season for Columbus, so this certainly isn't good news for them. In 42 games, he has six goals to go along with 11 helpers. Thus, he's been providing very good secondary scoring, but now, his strong campaign has to be put on pause. Furthermore, he also has been a very important part of their penalty kill. so the Blue Jackets will be forced to adjust in that area, too.
The Blue Jackets currently have a 20-22-1 record and are fifth in the Metropolitan Division. They are trying to get themselves back into the playoff race right now, but also trail the Boston Bruins by 14 points for the second Wild Card spot. Thus, they need to go on a real run from here, but losing one of their solid forwards certainly doesn't help with that.
This news comes shortly after it was announced that defenseman Jake Bean would be sidelined for four weeks, too. Furthermore, Alexandre Texier is also sidelined, so Columbus' depth is being tested.
Here's to hoping Robinson has a speedy recovery and ends up returning right on schedule.
