Bruins' Brad Marchand To Have In-Person Hearing

To the surprise of nobody, Boston Bruins forward Brad Marchand has an in-person hearing for roughing and high-sticking on Pittsburgh Penguins goaltender Tristan Jarry.

Nearing the completion of Tuesday night's contest, Marchand punched and then hit Tristan Jarry in the head with his stick. Following the play, the Bruins star understandably was given a match penalty. That automatically comes with a suspension and now this in-person hearing means that he can receive one for more than five games. However, it doesn't automatically mean he will.

Marchand's past history will play a major role in the NHL's decision when it comes to his suspension. He is on the verge of getting the eighth of his career, and this is on an entirely unnecessary play. He also was just suspended a few months ago for slew footing Oliver Ekman-Larsson.

Nevertheless, we will soon find out the specifics of Marchand's punishment, but it should be a lengthy one.
