Bruins Provide Update On Tuukka Rask
Boston Bruins head coach Bruce Cassidy told reporters that Tuukka Rask will not participate in practice for the remainder of this week.
Rask was initially listed as day-to-day, but his injury has become more serious than that. Cassidy's comment also did not provide much clarity over when we should see the veteran goaltender return, so one has to wonder if this could blossom into a long-term injury.
Rask of course had hip surgery during the offseason and had to miss the first half of the 2021-22 season because of it. Since re-signing with the team, he has had his fair share of struggles. In four appearances, he sports a 2-2-0 record, 4.28 goals-against average, and .844 save percentage. Once he is able to return, he will be aiming to get back on track.
In the meantime, the Bruins will continue to run with Jeremy Swayman as their backup. The 23-year-old has had a decent year with Boston this campaign. In 17 games, he sports an 8-6-2 record, 2.31 goals-against average, and .916 save percentage.\
