Confirmed: Wayne Gretzky Loves Trevor Zegras
While some of the NHL's dinosaurs can't stand to see any creativity in the game, the Great One Wayne Gretzky is here for it. Gretzky was recently asked about his thoughts on Anaheim Ducks forward Trevor Zegras and we can confirm, the Great One is a huge fan!
Zegras has put on a show this season in his rookie year, passing pucks over the net, scoring with the Michigan and using all-star weekend to show off his unbelievable breakaway skills. Gretzky had this to say recently on TNT:
Individually, I can't do the things that these kids do. … We didn't do all this individual stuff. They do it from a young age and they get good at it, and they incorporate that into the game, which is wonderful for the game. It's good for the game because kids love it. And good for them that they can do that
It sounds like Gretzky and John Tortorella need to hang out, after Torts has questioned the league's direction with all of the 'creative' things taken place on the ice. Let's take a look at some of the wildest goals of the year so far, as the Great One isn't the only one loving what he's seeing:
