Coyotes Forward Set To Return
Arizona Coyotes forward Barrett Hayton will be back in the lineup for Saturday's contest against the Los Angeles Kings.
Hayton has not played since January 6th's game against the Chicago Blackhawks. The 21-year-old was sidelined with a hand injury, but now he is finally ready to get back into game action.
In 26 games this campaign with the Coyotes, Hayton has two goals, four assists, and a minus-8 rating. The 2018 fifth-overall pick has yet to blossom into that top-six forward that Arizona is hoping for, but there is still plenty of time for him to. Now that he is ready to go, it will be intriguing to see if he is able to produce more frequently from here.
Although the Coyotes have a 12-32-4 record and clearly won't be in the playoffs, it's important for Hayton to continue to get playing time. If all goes according to plan with his development, he could become a key part of their lineup as they rebuild. Let's see how the youngster performs for the rest of the season.
