Jets Defenseman To Return
Winnipeg Jets defenseman Logan Stanley has been removed from injured reserve and is set to return to the lineup.
Stanley has not played for the Jets since January 20th's contest against the Nashville Predators due to a lower-body injury. Thus, it is nice to hear that the 23-year-old is finally ready to play for the first time in almost a month. He's become a very solid defensive defenseman for them, so they should be welcoming him back with open arms.
The Jets are currently trying to get themselves back into the playoff picture. At this point of the campaign, they have a 20-17-8 record and are sixth in the Central Division. With that, they trail the Anaheim Ducks by seven points for the second Wild Card spot, but also have four games in hand. Therefore, they are still in the race but need to win a lot from here. Getting back Stanley could help their chances of doing so.
In 35 games this season, Stanley has eight assists to go along with a plus-2 rating. Although the 2016 first-round pick hasn't blossomed into a star, he's become a dependable part of their lineup and is continuing to show signs of improvement.
