Jets To Be Without 3 Players
The Winnipeg Jets have placed Pierre-Luc Dubois, Neal Pionk, and Austin Poganski in COVID protocol.
This is just horrible timing for the Jets, as they are currently trying to climb themselves back into the playoff race. They sport an underwhelming 18-17-7 record and trail the Calgary Flames by nine points for the second Wild Card spot. Therefore, they need a notable winning streak, but now they are without three players.
Dubois has been one of Winnipeg's best forwards this season, so being without him is very negative for the Jets. After a slow start to his tenure with them last season, he has since bounced back extremely well. In 42 games, he has 18 goals to go along with 33 total points.
While Dubois is one of the Jets' best forwards, Pionk is one of their top defensemen. In 39 games this season, he has two goals and 16 helpers - not bad production at all from the blueliner. It's tough for them to lose an offensive defenseman like him, and it will naturally be hard to replace him in their lineup.
Although Poganski has a smaller role than the two above, it's never good for a team to lose depth. In nine games this season, he has yet to record a point.
