Kraken Bring Back Defenseman
The Seattle Kraken have claimed defenseman Dennis Cholowski off waivers from the Washington Capitals.
The Kraken actually originally lost Cholowski in this fashion during the beginning of the season. Due to this, if no other team had put a claim in on the young defenseman, Seattle will be able to send him down to the AHL freely.
Since #SeaKraken previously lost Cholowski on waivers to #ALLCAPS, if nobody else put a claim in this time, they can send him directly to AHL (without needing waivers again). https://t.co/q8re6rYhWF

It will be interesting to see what happens with Cholowski from here, though. When looking at the Kraken's lineup, there is still a chance that he could stick around on the NHL squad. If not, there's also the possibility that he could get called up later in the season. This is especially true with the Kraken expected to be sellers at the deadline.
Cholowski played just seven games with the Capitals during his tenure there, where he recorded an assist and had a minus-4 rating. The 23-year-old wasn't able to cement himself a permanent spot in their lineup and wasn't particularly dominant when utilized. The 2016 first-round pick will now be aiming to live up to his draft status as a member of the Kraken again.
Nevertheless, this isn't a bad move for the Kraken. In fact, it virtually comes with no real risk.
