Major Help On The Way For The Avalanche
Colorado Avalanche star Nathan MacKinnon is set to return to the lineup for Sunday afternoon's game against the Dallas Stars.
MacKinnon has not played since January 26th's contest against the Boston Bruins. He sustained a facial fracture and concussion after receiving a hit from forward Taylor Hall. Thankfully, however, the 26-year-old is now ready to go for Colorado.
It's been another excellent year for MacKinnon, so they understandably will be ecstatic to have him back in the lineup. In 31 games thus far, he has nine goals and 43 total points. That kind of production will be welcomed back with open arms, naturally.
Although MacKinnon is an immensely important part of the Avalanche, they still have been very dominant without him. They are 9-0-1 over their last 10 contests and currently possess a 33-8-4 record. They will be looking to increase their league-lead in points from here, and having MacKinnon back should only help with this significantly.
