Maple Leafs Place Forward On Waivers
The Toronto Maple Leafs have placed forward Adam Brooks on waivers.
The Maple Leafs just claimed Brooks off of waivers from the Vegas Golden Knights on Wednesday. Yet, it's now clear that the Leafs are planning to send him to the Toronto Marlies. He did fall low to end up back in Toronto, so perhaps there is a decent chance that he won't get claimed by another team this time around. Still, that isn't a guarantee.
Brooks has had such an eventful season. He was first claimed off waivers at the beginning of the campaign by the Montreal Canadiens. Then the Vegas Golden Knights claimed him from the Canadiens. Now, he's back with the Leafs but could suffer the same fate yet again if another team decides they'd like to add him to their roster, too.
In 11 games this season between the Canadiens and Golden Knights, Brooks has two goals and an assist. Overall, he has shown over the last few years that he can be a decent depth scorer at the NHL level while playing bottom-six minutes. When looking at how often players get injured in this league, there could be another team interested in his services.
Alas, we will have to wait and see if Brooks gets claimed again. What a crazy year it's been for the 25-year-old!
