NHL Rumors: Capitals And Kraken Discussing Trade
According to David Pagnotta, the Washington Capitals are calling the Seattle Kraken about Calle Jarnkrok.
The Capitals are in a position where they could use another forward in their lineup. Jarnkrok is an excellent option for them, as his immense versatility allows him to play center, right wing, and left wing. Needless to say, they would have plenty of spots in their lineup where he could fit.
Jarnkrok started off this season slowly but has since heated up. In 41 total games, he has 10 goals to go along with 11 assists. Over his last seven contests, he has recorded two goals and four assists. He is capable of being a very solid secondary scorer, so naturally, he is the kind of player who Washington should be looking at. It also helps that his cap hit is at an affordable $2 million.
Jarnkrok will be traded by the Kraken before the deadline passes. He is a pending UFA, and the Kraken have one of the worst records in the entire league. Thus, they will be sellers and looking to get some sort of compensation for the veteran. If the Capitals have it their way, they will be the lucky team to win the sweepstakes.
