NHL Rumors: Coyotes To Trade Veteran Forward

According to Craig Morgan, Riley Nash is a player from the Arizona Coyotes who could be traded before the deadline passes.

Nash has had an eventful season thus far. After starting the campaign with the Winnipeg Jets, he was placed on waivers and claimed by the Tampa Bay Lightning. However, his stint in Tampa did not last very long either, as the Coyotes would also claim him off waivers. In 41 games between all three teams, he has two assists and a minus-6 rating.

It hasn't been a year to remember for Nash, as his offensive numbers have fallen off dramatically. However, even with this being the case, a contender could view the 32-year-old as a solid depth option. He is known for his strong defensive play and can of course be utilized on the penalty kill because of it. He is also only making $750,000, so he possesses a contract that is very easy to afford.

Any trade involving Nash shouldn't cost a team too much. A late-round pick should get a deal done, as the Coyotes are looking to grow their prospect pool. Let's see if the longtime NHLer joins his fourth franchise of the season by the deadline.
