NHL Rumors: Ducks Shopping Veteran Winger
The Anaheim Ducks are open to moving Jakob Silfverberg, according to Frank Seravalli.
The Ducks have a lot of young players who are starting to make up their next core. With many of them being forwards, it's understandable that Silfverberg's future with the organization is in question. He now is playing third-line minutes, and his offense has dropped off a bit because of it. In 45 games thus far, he has three goals and 14 assists.
With players like Hampus Lindholm, Josh Manson, Richard Rakell, and Ryan Getzlaf all possessing expiring contracts, big changes may be on the way for the Ducks. Although Anaheim is surprisingly having a solid season, they are very much still in a rebuilding stage. Thus, this could open the door to a Silfverberg trade as well.
Silfverberg carries a $5.25 million cap hit until the completion of the 2023-24 season. Due to this, it may not be very easy to move him. However, the Ducks are not letting that stop them from trying.
