NHL Rumors: Kings Looking To Make 2 Upgrades
According to Elliotte Friedman, the Los Angeles Kings are looking to add a left-handed defenseman and a scorer by the trade deadline.
The Kings have taken a nice step forward this season in their rebuild. At this time, they have a 24-16-7 record and are second in the Pacific Division. However, teams like the Calgary Flames and Edmonton Oilers can catch them, as they have multiple games in hand. Therefore, as an attempt to help solidify their playoff spot, it makes sense for them to make upgrades.
The trade market is expected to have no shortage of left-handed defensemen, as players like Jakob Chychrun, Ben Chiarot, and Mark Giordano are three big examples. Other options include rentals like Calvin de Haan and Nick Leddy.
It will be interesting to see who the Kings look to add on offense. There are some interesting forwards that we could see moved like Max Domi, Phil Kessel, Jake DeBrusk, Dominik Kubalik, and Calle Jarnkrok. Ideally, it seems that Los Angeles would like to improve upon their top six primarily.
Nevertheless, with the Kings expected to be buyers, we could see them make some moves come deadline day.
