NHL Rumors: Kraken Calling About Bruins Forward
According to David Pagnotta of The Fourth Period, the Seattle Kraken are interested in Boston Bruins forward Jake DeBrusk.
DeBrusk requested a trade earlier this season, but the 25-year-old winger is still a member of the Bruins. A notable reason behind this is that the team is looking for a player of equal value in return. Thus, Boston hasn't found an offer that they have deemed acceptable yet. With the Kraken being sellers at the deadline, perhaps they can come up with an offer that works.
DeBrusk probably just heightened the Kraken's interest in him, too. During Thursday's contest, he scored two goals, including the overtime winner, against them. With this, he now has 11 goals, eight assists, and a minus-5 rating. Furthermore, the team played him at the first-line right wing position, so they showcased him well during it, too.
The Kraken aren't the only team interested in DeBrusk, so it isn't a guarantee that they will land him. However, it's clear that the possibility is there. With DeBrusk still being a restricted free agent at the end of the season, it does make sense for them to get him.
