NHL Rumors: Kraken Forward Drawing Trade Offers
Although Joonas Donskoi's contract doesn't expire until after the 2022-23 season, we could still see the Seattle Kraken trade him before the deadline passes, according to Frank Seravalli.
Donskoi has struggled rather noticeably this season with the Kraken. In 49 games, he has one goal, 14 assists, and a minus-5 rating. With that, he went 15 straight games without recording a single point, and it took him 44 games to get his lone goal. Needless to say, this is certainly not what was expected of the 29-year-old this season.
Perhaps a change of scenery could be just what the doctor ordered for Donskoi. When he was a member of the Colorado Avalanche, he was a very good middle-six option who produced solid offense. For example, in 51 games with the team last season, he had 17 goals to go along with 14 assists. It is apparent that he is capable of producing more when he has a good supporting cast to work with. This fact could make teams interested in him.
Seattle's first season has been pretty brutal, and multiple players from their roster have entered the rumor mill because of it. Now, Donskoi has been added to that list.
