NHL Rumors: Predators And Flyers Discussing Trade

Philadelphia Flyers defenseman Justin Braun is getting a lot of interest around the league. Now, according to David Pagnotta of The Fourth Period, the Nashville Predators have joined the sweepstakes.

The Flyers are going to be sellers at the deadline, and Braun is one of their veterans with an expiring contract. The 35-year-old also just so happens to be having a good season, so Philadelphia could get a decent return for him. In 50 games this campaign, he has four goals, 10 assists, and a plus-2 rating. Keep in mind, he only had six points in 53 games last season.

At this time, the Predators have a 28-18-4 record and are fourth in the Central Division. They stand a good chance of making the playoffs as a Wild Card team. With this, it wouldn't hurt for them to make some upgrades to their roster. The right side of their defense could use a jolt, and Braun could be a perfect fit for their bottom pair because of it. Furthermore, he would be a welcomed addition to their penalty kill, too.

Although the Predators and Flyers are having discussions about a Braun trade, it doesn't automatically mean he will end up there. Other teams have also expressed interest in him, so the sweepstakes are far from over.
