NHL Rumors: Sharks To Move Veteran Forward

The San Jose Sharks are likely to trade Andrew Cogliano, according to Frank Seravalli. 

Although Tomas Hertl is obviously the big rental candidate on the Sharks, Cogliano could also get some interest around the league, too. He is a versatile forward who is capable of playing both left wing and center. He also works well while being utilized on the penalty kill because of his strong defensive play. At this point of his career, he is more of a bottom-six forward, but he is still quite useful in that role.

In 44 games this season with the Sharks, Cogliano has four goals to go along with eight assists. He isn't too dominant when it comes to producing offense, but he still would provide a playoff team with more depth. That is always a major plus. 

Cogliano also has played a long career, so he of course would bring experience to the table, too. In 1,110 games between the Edmonton Oilers, Anaheim Ducks, Dallas Stars, and Sharks, he has 174 goals, 248 assists, 422 points, and a plus-22 rating. It will be interesting to see if a fifth team is added to his resume from here.
