Oilers Place Forward On Waivers

The Edmonton Oilers have placed Brendan Perlini on waivers.

This is the second time this campaign where Perlini has been placed on waivers. The 25-year-old went unclaimed the first time, so the same thing could happen yet again this time around. However, he also only carries a $750,000 cap hit, so perhaps a team in need of some forward depth could elect to grab him.

Perlini's return to the NHL hasn't been too spectacular. In 23 games, he has four goals, one assist, and a minus-2 rating. He primarily has played bottom-six minutes when called upon but still hasn't been as offensively productive as they had hoped for.

Perlini also suited up in two games with the Bakersfield Condors this season, too. With them, he scored two goals, so they certainly wouldn't mind having him back in their lineup - assuming he clears waivers, of course.

Alas, we will find out on Tuesday afternoon if Perlini has a new home.
