Rangers Sign Forward To Extension

The New York Rangers have signed Jonny Brodzinski to a two-year contract extension.

Brodzinki's current contract is set to expire, and he would have been eligible to be an unrestricted free agent. However, the Rangers have now avoided that possibility by giving him this deal. Now, the 28-year-old will continue to be a solid depth forward for the club.

Brodzinski has appeared in five games with the Rangers this season. In them, he has zero points and a plus-1 rating. He is also a key part of the Hartford Wolf Pack and their current captain. In 36 games this campaign with them, he has 18 goals and 21 assists. With the team having many notable prospects in their system, he's a good veteran for them to play with.

Overall, keeping Brodzinski around isn't a huge move, but it certainly seems like a smart one. Let's see how he performs from here.
