Norris sustained his injury after a collision with Carolina Hurricanes forward Andrei Svechnikov on January 27th. It is nice to hear that he is making some progress with his recovery, but at the same time, it isn't ideal that he has to miss a bit more time.
Norris has been having an excellent season with the Senators this year. In 36 games, he has an impressive 18 goals to go along with eight assists. He is on pace to pass the 35 points he had last season in 56 games. Furthermore, he has already set a new career-high in goals and is clearly taking that next step as a scorer. It is always a positive to see a young player average a goal every two games.
The Senators are in a position where they do not need to rush back Norris. At this juncture of the campaign, they have a 14-22-4 record and aren't a threat to make the playoffs. Therefore, there's no harm in him missing more time. Here's to hoping he does have a speedy recovery from here, though.
