Stars Forward Placed On Waivers
The Dallas Stars have placed Tanner Kero on waivers.
This news comes immediately after the Stars claimed Marian Studenic off waivers from the New Jersey Devils. They needed to open up an NHL spot for the 23-year-old winger, and they have made this move with Kero as a result of this. Dallas will be hoping that the 29-year-old will clear and head to their AHL affiliate, the Texas Stars.
Kero has been an extra forward for the Stars for the majority of this season. In 23 games with the team thus far, he has three assists and a minus-5 rating. Although he hasn't been dominant, his ability to play both center and right wing has come in handy for the Stars. He also has played in three contests with Texas, where he has recorded two helpers.
Teams are always looking to add to their depth, so it isn't a guarantee that Kero will successfully pass through waivers. However, the one thing that could help the Stars is that he has another year on his contract after this one. That could end up keeping teams away. Alas, we will have to wait and see what happens on that front.
