Video: CRAZY Fight Between Jamie Oleksiak and Nicolas Deslauriers
The Anaheim Ducks were hosting the Seattle Kraken on Friday night hoping to get back in the win column after a disappointing overtime loss to the Detroit Red Wings in the last game before the All-Star break. The Kraken jumped out to the early lead, thanks to Ryan Donato's 11th goal of the season, which Ducks tough guy Nicolas Deslauriers took exception to, deciding to start a fight at the ensuing face off with Kraken defenseman Jamie Oleksiak.
Deslauriers stands 6'3" and weighs 219 lbs so it's rare that he is caught in a fight where he is the smaller man, but the 30-year-old found himself in that unfamiliar situation when he decided to drop the gloves with the 6'7", 255 lbs Oleksiak. Despite the size disadvantage, Deslauriers more than held his own and most would say he got the better of the towering defenseman in what was one of the most entertaining fights of the season.
Check out the fight below:
The Kraken went on to win the game 4-3, rebounding from their loss to the Coyotes on Wednesday to earn their 16th win in franchise history while handing the Ducks their second loss in a row. The Kraken's next game is Monday at home against the Leafs, while the Ducks don't play until next Wednesday on the road against the Calgary Flames.
