Video: Kraken's Donskoi Scores First Goal Of Season
During Tuesday's game against the Boston Bruins, Seattle Kraken forward Joonas Donskoi finally scored his first goal of the campaign. It was his 44th game of the season, so it certainly was needed.
This was also Donskoi's first point in 15 games and over one month. It's been a hard year for the 29-year-old winger, as he now has the goal to go along with 14 assists in 44 contests. That kind of production is very low for the Finnish forward, but perhaps this will be the spark that gets him back on track.
When Donskoi was selected by the Kraken in the expansion draft, he was viewed as one of their top forwards from the start. In 51 games last season with the Colorado Avalanche, he scored 17 goals and added 14 helpers, too. He also had a 33-point campaign in 65 games with the team, so he certainly is capable of producing more. His excellent goal with the Kraken only shows that more.
Nevertheless, congrats to Joonas for finally breaking the ice. Let's see if this leads to a much-needed hot streak for him.
