Avalanche Sign Goaltender To Extension
The Colorado Avalanche have signed Pavel Francouz to a two-year, $4 million contract extension.
This has the potential to be an excellent value contract for the Avalanche. After missing the entirety of last season, Francouz has once again been very good. In 14 appearances, he has a 10-3-1 record, 2.46 goals-against average, and a .920 save percentage. This is coming after he had a 2.41 GAA and .923 SV% with Colorado during the 2019-20 season. Thus, he has certainly been consistent when healthy.
The primary issue with Francouz is that he has plenty of injury trouble, however. Besides missing all of last season, he also has missed a good portion of this campaign, too. Yet, he also has been able to stay healthy as of late, so here's to hoping that this trend continues moving forward.
In 50 career games with the Avalanche, Francouz has a 31-12-5 record, 2.42 GAA, and .923 SV%. Now with this contract, he will have the chance to build on these numbers for two more years after this one.
