Blue Jackets Forward Takes Leave Of Absence
Columbus Blue Jackets forward Alexandre Texier has been granted a leave of absence from the team.
Blue Jackets GM Jarmo Kekalainen noted that Texier "has experienced personal losses of people very close to him." With this, it is entirely understandable why the 22-year-old is stepping away from the franchise for an indefinite amount of time.
Texier has not played since January 26th's contest against the Calgary Flames due to a fractured finger. Before it, he was having the best offensive campaign of his career, as he set career highs in goals (11) and points (20) in just 36 games.
Although the Blue Jackets naturally miss him in their lineup, the most important thing for Texier right now is to take the time he needs. We'd like to send our best wishes to the young forward.
