Blue Jackets Sign Forward To Extension
The Columbus Blue Jackets have signed Justin Danforth to a two-year contract extension. He will have an average annual value of $975,000 starting next season.
Danforth is currently in his first NHL season. It certainly has been a long road for the 28-year-old, as he played multiple seasons in the minors and overseas before landing this great opportunity with Columbus. Now, he has earned himself a home on their roster for two more years because of his solid overall play.
In 22 games with the Blue Jackets this season, he has five goals to go along with two assists. He has proven to be a reliable depth forward for them, as he is capable of playing both center and right wing if needed. This certainly comes in handy in this role.
The Blue Jackets have been busy as of late. Before extending Danforth, they also signed Billy Sweezey and Jet Greeves to NHL contracts. Let's see if more moves are on the way from here.
