Bruins And Ducks Complete Blockbuster
The Boston Bruins have acquired Hampus Lindholm and Kodie Curran from the Anaheim Ducks in exchange for their 2022 first-round pick, 2023 and 2024 second-round picks, Urho Vaakanainen, and John Moore. The Ducks will also retain half of Lindholm's salary.
The Bruins have been linked to multiple left-handed defensemen, but now we have confirmation that Lindholm will be their guy. With this, they are getting one of the top rental defensemen from this deadline season, and it was certainly needed. Now, they finally have a potential top-pairing defenseman to play with Charlie McAvoy.
In 61 games this season, Lindholm has five goals, 17 assists, and an even rating. Overall, it's been another solid year for the 28-year-old, and he will be looking to carry over that success to Boston.
With the Bruins' core getting older, it's understandable that they are going all-in at the deadline. It will be interesting to see if they have another move up their sleeves from here. Furthermore, the Ducks are getting plenty of draft picks and a solid prospect in Vaakanainen.
Update: The Bruins and Lindholm are making progress on an extension. Stay tuned.
