Canadiens Place Forward On Waivers
The Montreal Canadiens have placed Cedric Paquette on waivers.
Paquette has struggled with the Canadiens this season. In 24 games, he has two assists and a minus-6 rating. With that, he also has not played since January 29th's contest against the Edmonton Oilers. As a result of this, it is understandable that the team has decided to put the 28-year-old on waivers.
Teams looking for more forward depth could consider bringing in Paquette, as he is only making $950,000 for the remainder of the season. However, his injury trouble and struggles this campaign make it seem that he will more likely end up joining the Laval Rocket of the AHL.
In448 career games between the Tampa Bay Lightning, Ottawa Senators, Carolina Hurricanes, and Canadiens, Paquette has 51 goals, 95 points, and 391 penalty minutes. He has shown in the past that he can be an effective fourth-line forward, so let's see if a team takes a gamble on him from here.
