Canadiens Veteran Forward Placed On Waivers
The Montreal Canadiens have placed Mathieu Perreault on waivers.
It's been a tough year for Perreault, as he has dealt with numerous injuries. As a result of this, he has only skated in 18 games with the team, where he has three goals, two assists, and a plus-1 rating.
Due to his struggles this season, it seems likely that Perreault will pass through waivers unclaimed. Yet, the NHL can be a bit unpredictable, so perhaps a team could see his vast experience as appealing. With that, he also only carries a $950,000 contract and is capable of playing both center and the wing.
In 701 career games between the Washington Capitals, Anaheim Ducks, Winnipeg Jets, and Canadiens, Perreault has 142 goals, 206 assists, and 348 points. We will have to wait and see if he will have the chance to build on these numbers elsewhere or if he will be heading to Laval.
