Capitals Sign Forward To Extension
The Washington Capitals have signed Joe Snively to a two-year, $1.6 million contract.
Snively has gotten into his first NHL action this season as a 26-year-old. He certainly was worth the wait, however, as he has left a very solid first impression with the Capitals. In 12 games with the team, he has four goals, three assists, and a plus-3 rating. Unfortunately, his nice start has been put on pause, as he is injured and not expected to be back until mid-April.
Snively will continue to be a solid forward option for the Capitals from here. At a minimum, he should be a depth forward for the team, but when looking at how well he has played this campaign, he certainly has made a case for himself to be a permanent part of their bottom six.
Snively also has had a lot of success with the Hershey Bears this season, as he has 15 goals to go along with 23 assists.
