Done Deal: Rangers Acquire Flyers Defenseman
The New York Rangers and Philadelphia Flyers have completed a deadline-day deal as the Rangers have acquired veteran defenseman Justin Braun.
Pending the official trade call, but Rangers get Justin Braun from the Flyers in exchange for a 3rd RD pick in '23.

No salary retention.
Braun is a right-handed shot who can play some hard minutes. He's 35 years and on an expiring contract, as the Rangers won't be tied to him for very long if things don't work out. He joins a group with the Rangers who play an aggressive style where they try to outwork the other team on a nightly basis.
The Rangers sent a 2023 third-round pick back to the Flyers in this trade, in what's become the going rate for bottom-pair defenseman as we've seen with previous moves involving the likes of Travis Dermott and Travis Hamonic.
Look for the Rangers to stay active trying to add before the 3pm deadline, meanwhile the Flyers continue their fire sale which could include goaltender Martin Jones, forward Travis Konecny and Derrick Brassard being shipped out.
