Ducks Place Forward On Waivers
The Anaheim Ducks have placed Buddy Robinson on waivers.
Robinson joined the Ducks this offseason. Over the four previous seasons between the Ottawa Senators and Calgary Flames, he played just 21 games at the NHL level. However, with Anaheim, he has already played 23 games this season. In them, he has one goal, three assists, and 10 penalty minutes.
Although Robinson hasn't been too particularly dominant at the NHL level, it seems possible that a team will be open to claim him. The 30-year-old winger only carries a $750,000 cap hit for the remainder of the season, so he could be a cheap depth option elsewhere. Furthermore, it doesn't hurt at all that he is also 6-foot-6 and not afraid to fight.
If Robinson clears, he will likely be joining the team's AHL affiliate - the San Diego Gulls. In 16 games with the team this season, he has two goals, two assists, and six penalty minutes.
The Columbus Blue Jackets are a team to watch. Robinson's brother, Eric, currently plays there. We have seen a few brothers join the same teams this year, so let's see if it happens again.
