Flames Acquire Forward From Blackhawks
The Calgary Flames have acquired Ryan Carpenter from the Chicago Blackhawks for a 2024 fifth-round pick.
The Flames had already made their big moves of the deadline season when they acquired Tyler Toffoli and Calle Jarnkrok. Yet, there were rumblings that they wanted to add more depth at forward, so it makes sense that they have brought in Carpenter.
Carpenter will give the Flames another option for the bottom six. He is a very physical player who may not dominate the scoresheet, but he does work well on the penalty kill because of his defensive play. Overall, he is a good player to add for the postseason.
In 59 games this season with the Blackhawks, Carpenter had three goals and eight assists. He will now be looking to build on those numbers as a member of the Flames.
