Flyers Sign Prospect To Entry-Level Contract
The Philadelphia Flyers have signed Noah Cates to a two-year, entry-level contract.
Due to the fact that Cates' contract begins this season, he is permitted to join the Flyers immediately. If the team elects to have him debut during their next contest, he will have the opportunity to play against his hometown team, the Minnesota Wild.
Cates just finished his senior season with the University of Minnesota-Duluth. In 37 games as their captain, he had 11 goals and 13 assists. Overall, it was another solid year for the youngster, and he will be aiming to carry that over to the professional level.
Another reason why this is a big day for Cates is that he will have the opportunity to play for the same organization as his brother, Jackson. Perhaps shortly, they each will be mainstays in Philadelphia's lineup.
